Before & After
Orthognathic Surgery is a surgical procedure used to lengthen or shorten the jaw bones to improve masticatory function, facial aesthetics and the patient's overall health.
We use high technology in all our patients, before operating we develop a virtual surgery plan where we operate on the patient in the software first and then in real life.
Each case is different and to obtain a diagnosis it is important to attend a prior assessment appointment.

Class 2
It occurs when the lower teeth are behind (several millimeters) with respect to the upper teeth.
Class 3
It occurs when the lower teeth are in front of the upper teeth.

Facial Asymmetries
They refer to cases in which one side of the face or jaw is very different from the other side. They can be due to multiple causes, from congenital problems at birth, developmental disorders during growth, traumas, syndromes.
Vertical Excess of the Maxilla or Gummy Smile:
It occurs when the upper jaw grows more than expected in a vertical manner, and when patients smile, they show an excessive amount of gum.

Short Face:
It is not so common, it occurs in patients who have little development of the upper jaw, they hardly show upper teeth, they tend to have short and square faces.
Obstructive sleep apnea:
Obstructive sleep apnea affects millions of people worldwide and is caused by an obstruction of airflow through the airway while the patient is sleeping. When this obstruction is determined to be at the base of the tongue and is associated with a small jaw and chin, orthognathic surgery is the best surgical treatment option according to the Stanford University sleep group. Simultaneous Orthognathic Surgery and Rhinoplasty
In some specific cases, both procedures can be performed in the same surgical procedure, usually when the aim is to reduce a prominent dorsum, or to give a little more support to a nasal tip. Highly complex rhinoplasties are always preferably performed in a second surgical procedure.
