With Orthognathic Surgery we treat many of the problems associated with the face, bite and airway.
We use a protocol called FAB (Face Airway and Bite), which means that with just one surgery we will:
FACE
CARA:
The face is a complex system of moving parts. To provide an aesthetic result with any cosmetic, dental or orthognathic treatment, the hard and soft tissues of the face must be properly shaped, in the proper position and provide proper function. In fact, proper facial form, position and function are the very definition of physical beauty. This is our goal for each and every one of our patients.
AIRWAY
VÍA AEREA:
The bones of the face support the airways through which we breathe. Skeletal position can directly affect the volume through which air passes when we breathe. This airflow can be improved by placing the bones in the proper position.
BITE
MORDIDA:
Proper tooth alignment (occlusion) depends on a complex interaction between the shape of the teeth and their position in the bone, the relationship of the jaws, the facial and jaw muscles, and the temporomandibular joints. The idea is that the upper teeth mesh with the lower teeth.
